How we care
We understand the need for quality of care where personalised aged care that includes an individual care plan tailored to the needs of each resident. A resident care plan can be prepared in consultation with the resident, their representatives and the resident’s health care team.
Ibis Care are committed to giving residents what they need as well as what they want based on their personal choice.
The health care and support services that we provide to residents are based on best practices and under the guidance of the Aged Care Quality Standards.
We want to give ageing Australians a journey that is filled with laughter, good health and compassion.
Aged Care Quality Standards
The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission assesses all government-funded aged care homes against provider responsibilities to deliver safe and effective care services.
These responsibilities are set out under the Aged Care Act 1997 and include the Aged Care Quality Standards.
Ibis Care complies with the Aged Care Quality Standards (Quality Standards), aligning with quality and safety requirements. The Charter strengthens our commitment to these Quality Standards by protecting and promoting consumer rights.
Your Rights at Ibis Care
As a recipient of our aged care services, your rights include:
- Receiving safe, high-quality care and services.
- Being treated with dignity, respect, and having your identity, culture, and diversity valued.
- Living without abuse or neglect.
- Access all your information, including your rights, care, and services.
- Control over decisions regarding your care, personal life, financial affairs, and possessions.
- The right to be heard, understood, supported, and to complain without reprisal.
- Personal privacy, with your information protected.
- The freedom to exercise your rights without adverse effects.
Charter of Aged Care
At Ibis Care, we diligently adhere to the Charter of Aged Care Rights (the Charter), which is in accordance with the Aged Care Act 1997. These legislated rights ensure that all our consumers receive standardised, high-quality care and services.
The Charter empowers you, your family, carer, or representative to know what to expect from the care and services provided by Ibis Care. It’s our responsibility to ensure you comprehend your rights under the Charter. We’ll provide you with a signed copy; while you can choose to sign it, it’s not required for receiving care.
Safety, Infection Prevention and Control
At Ibis Care our priority is the health and safety of residents in our care. We have a comprehensive infection prevention and control program with measures in place to minimise transmission to residents and staff.
All necessary steps are taken to prevent, detect and control the spread of infections through an effective program that is in line with national guidelines. Staff are educated and trained on best-practice infection prevention and control.
Visitors and residents are frequently informed and reminded of the need for using measures that prevent infection transmission such as good hand hygiene and mask wearing.
